Alexis Marie Shannon was accepted into the Houston Ballet Academy at the age of seven. At the age of ten, she was cast as the "lead clown" in the 1992 Houston Ballet's "The Nutcracker". Alexis continued studying ballet, jazz, and contemporary modern as a dance major at Sam Houston State University where she will graduate in August 2008 with a BFA in Dance. Her contemporary jazz piece, “Free Yourself”, was chosen to be presented at American College Dance Festival. She performed in over 40 dance performances during her studies at Sam Houston University and competed three times in ACDFA. Alexis also dance Clay Walker’s “Live Laugh Love Tour” and “X Tour.” Alexis also performed at Astroworld as a lead dancer and lead pop vocalist for 2 years. In 2005, she had moved to New York City to train in the Alvin Ailey Dance School’s independent studies program.
